Mike Hinton started as a labourer at Stowfield Quarry near Coleford but really wanted to be working on the machinery. He later worked at Shakemantle Quarry near Cinderford. Here Mike describes how he got on to the machinery, then lorry driving, and how, with the coming of motorway construction, delivery driving for the quarry became a very well paid job.
